Technical Consultancy

Independent engineering judgement on the decisions that are expensive to get wrong.

Most costly technical decisions are made with incomplete information and under time pressure. We are brought in at exactly those moments: to pressure-test a design, evaluate competing approaches, or establish what is actually causing a problem before money is committed to solving the wrong thing.

How we work

We start by establishing the constraints that actually bind: budget, schedule, regulatory exposure, existing plant, and the capability of the team who will operate whatever gets built. A recommendation that ignores any of these is not a recommendation, it is a wish.

From there the work is deliberately unglamorous. We review documentation, interview the people doing the job, inspect the asset where relevant, and model the options. What you receive is a written position with the reasoning exposed, so your team can challenge it rather than simply take it on faith.

What you get

Our deliverable is a decision document, not a slide deck. It states the recommended course of action, the alternatives considered, the basis for rejecting them, and the assumptions that would need to change for the recommendation to change. Where the honest answer is that more information is needed before deciding, we say so and scope what it would take to get it.

Let us look at the problem properly.

Tell us what you are dealing with. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
